H L Kong Medical Oncology Centre attends to patients who are above the age of 12 years, with suspected or confirmed diagnosis of solid tumours, including:
- Breast cancers
- Colon cancers
- Lung cancers
- Liver, pancreas, gallbladder and bile duct cancers
- Stomach and oesophageal cancers
- Cancers of the head and neck, including nasopharyngeal cancer (NPC)
- Cancers of the ovaries, uterus and cervix
- Cancers of the prostate, bladder, testes
- Kidney cancers
- Sarcomas
- Melanomas
- Cancers of unknown primary site
- Other solid tumours
- Lymphomas
The clinical services available at the Centre include:
- Investigations to confirm or rule out the presence of cancers
- Mapping out and coordination of the overall cancer treatment plan
- Assessment of risk of cancer relapse after initial surgery
- Administration of chemotherapy
- Administration of monoclonal antibody therapy
- Administration of oral targeted therapy
- Administration of hormonal therapy
- Post-treatment surveillance
- Pain control and other supportive treatment
- Coordination of palliative care services and home care for patients and families
- Counseling of patients and caregivers (e.g. family members)
- Patient education (precautions, diet, activities of daily living)
- Cancer prevention advice
- Initial assessment of cancer genetic risks amongst family members of cancer patients
- Management of cancer patients' other general medical conditions
